sand dune sunrise: aurora

with headlamps on and the stretch of sandy unknown before us, aurora and i set off in darkness at the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado. we quickly realized the headlamps weren’t needed, as we clicked them off and the stars led us in the direction of the silent dunes. this was one of those moments. the ones that you hold onto forever, the calmness of our surroundings embracing us. there is something truly magical about the sand dunes. i hope you enjoy these shots from what started as a nude in nature series and transitioned into a [not so] traditional portrait session with me!
